The deparment is responsible for training professional Pharmaceutical Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technologists, and Nutrition and Dietetics Technologists. Health science works in collaboration with medical facilities within the region to meet the needs of the job market. The courses offered are fully accredited by relevant professional bodies: Pharmacy and Poisons Board, Kenya Nutrition and Dieticians Institute, and Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board. The department offers patient patient-centered approach to learning by accessing the institution’s dispensary which offers healthcare services to the immediate stakeholders. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories for practical, research and training. The department has sufficient lecture rooms and qualified teaching and non-teaching staff. Internet facilities are available for learning and research.
